About ChessPigeon
A calm board for reviewing and teaching chess
ChessPigeon started from a simple wish: open a game, see where it turned, and talk it through with someone, without wading through clutter.
Who makes it
ChessPigeon is an independent project made by a team of silly pigeons who fell in love with chess. What started as a few curious pecks at the board grew into a shared obsession with clever moves, unexpected comebacks, and the occasional spectacular blunder. We built ChessPigeon to share that joy - a welcoming place to play, learn, and explore chess together, one move at a time.
There is no large team behind it and no investor roadmap: features are added when they make studying or teaching noticeably easier. The changelog shows every version so far.
Why it exists
Built for three kinds of chess moments
Most chess tools are built around playing as many games as possible. ChessPigeon makes each game count: play it, understand it, then teach it.
Players who want a game
Play a pigeon from Beginner to Maximum, or send a friend a link and play them. When the game ends, one click opens it in Analysis.
Players reviewing their own games
Import a game, run a Stockfish review and find the handful of moments that decided it. Try your own ideas on the board, then keep the game or share it with a link.
Coaches teaching students
Open a classroom, send one link and teach on a shared live board. Students join with a name.
How it works
A few principles we stick to
- The engine runs on your device
- Analysis runs on your device. Reviewing a game doesn't upload it.
- Your games stay with you
- Saved games are stored in your browser on this device. They leave it only when you share a link, download a file or join a lesson.
- Honest numbers
- Accuracy and move labels are estimates to help you study, not final judgments.
