Support and Bug Reports
Stuck, found a bug or have an idea? Here is how to reach us and what to include so the problem can be reproduced.
Before you write
Many problems have a quick fix. The troubleshooting guide covers the engine not starting, imports that fail, saving and disconnected lessons or games. The FAQ answers common questions about accounts, storage and evaluations.
Contact
Email support@chesspigeon.app with a short subject line describing the problem.
ChessPigeon is a small independent project, so replies are personal and can take a while. There is no guaranteed response time.
Writing a useful bug report
The more precisely a problem can be reproduced, the faster it can be fixed. Please include:
- Your browser and device, for example “Safari 18 on iPhone 15” or “Chrome on a Windows laptop”.
- The ChessPigeon version. Open Settings in the app; the version number is shown at the bottom of the dialog.
- What you did, step by step, starting from opening the page.
- What you expected and what happened instead, including the exact wording of any error message.
- The game, if it matters. For import or review problems, attach the PGN (in the app: Export game → PGN). Only send games you are happy to share.
A screenshot often helps, as long as it shows nothing private.
What not to send
- Don't send passwords or account credentials. We will never ask for them.
- Don't send students' private messages, names or other personal details from a lesson.
- Crop or blur names and chat in screenshots unless they are yours to share.
Privacy and abuse concerns
Use the same address with one of these subject lines so the message reaches the right place:
- “Privacy request” for questions about your data or to ask for data to be deleted. See the privacy policy for what is stored.
- “Abuse report” for harassment in a lesson chat, misuse of an invitation or other conduct that breaks the terms of use. Describe what happened and when, without forwarding the invitation link.
